Join Defending Champion DCGreeks.com at the 2016 Safe at Home Kickball Tournament

9:00 AM
Where: Long Bridge Park
475 South Old Jefferson Davis Highway
Arlington, VA  22202

2016 Safe at Home Kickball Tournament

Benefiting Bridges to Independence (formerly the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless)

WHAT:
DCGreeks.com is once again sponsoring a team created from Greek and Philhellene kickballers from all over the DC Metro area to compete in a one-day kickball tournament that covers all the bases -- fun, food, charity, and all-day KICKBALL competition -- now in its 10th year!  Last year after a number of semifinal and 2nd place finishes, we went undefeated on our way our first ever championship -- not bad for a squad that doesn't play organized kickball but once a year!

WHEN:
Saturday, August 6, 2016.  Games start at 9:00 AM.  Round robin play followed by Playoffs. In previous years, the Championship Game has finished around 3:30 PM.

WHERE:
Long Bridge Park
475 S. Old Jefferson Davis Highway
Arlington, VA  22202

View Google map.

Long Bridge Park
Located north of Crystal City adjacent to I-395, Long Bridge Park features three full-size, multi-sport, lighted, rectangular synthetic turf athletic fields, a network of walkways, an overlook at the north end of the park with views of capital monuments, Wave Arbor, a public art feature by nationally recognized artist Doug Hollis, and a three-quarter acre rain garden that directs runoff from the park's sports fields and parking lot into a planted garden of native shrubs and perennials. There are picnic areas, interpretive displays, restrooms and free parking for the event.
Transit Options:
- Blue and Yellow Line Metro (Pentagon City 1 mile, Crystal City 1.1 mile, Pentagon 1.2 mile), Metrobus 9A and 23A, and by bicycle (connection to the Mount Vernon Trail is over the railroad tracks and GW Parkway is from the south of the park. The connection is through the connector from National Airport to the Water Park in Crystal City.)
Find more details and directions to Long Bridge Park.

WHY:
To benefit Bridges to Independence (f/k/a the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless), where homeless women and families can get the tools, shelter, and skills necessary for a better future. For more on b2i's tough, terrific work see https://bridges2.org/.
