Δεύτερη Δευτέρα and St. Katherine's YAL Open Meeting

When: Monday September 14, 2009
7:00 PM
Where: Meletis-Charuhas Center at St. Katherine's
3145 Glen Carlyn Road
Falls Church, VA  22041
Minimum Age: 18

***YAL OPEN MEETING***

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the YAL General Meeting this Monday, September 14th, at 7pm, prior to our monthly sandwich-making event.  At the open meeting, we will discuss upcoming YAL events and generate ideas for new ones.  We would love to get to know our members better and hear what kinds of activities and resources you would like to see us provide this year, so don't hesitate to join us!

***DEUTERI DEUTERA***

Immediately following Monday's 7pm YAL General Meeting, please also join us at 7:30pm for our monthly *Deuteri Deutera Charity Event*  in the kitchen of the Meletis-Charuhas Center.

After a record breaking year of sandwich-making for the homeless, St. Katherine’s YAL continues to help the homeless while having a good time.  Our goal for this year is not simply to make more sandwiches, but to get more people involved in this worthwhile experience.  Please make an effort to bring a new person - or someone who hasn't been to sandwich-making in a while - this Monday.   Please bring loaves of sandwich bread and packages of deli meats and cheeses.  The ratio is 2 slices of meat per sandwich, or one slice of meat and one slice of cheese per sandwich. Ideally, each participant should bring seven loaves of bread and eleven packages of meat or a combination of six packages of meat and five packages of cheese.

If you don't have time to go to the grocery store beforehand, or cannot attend this event but would like to make a cash contribution to this worthy cause, please contact Helen Spanos at [email protected] by 2:00pm that Monday, and Helen will purchase the meat and bread on your behalf.

As always, after sandwich-making, we will go to a local restaurant for dinner.

We look forward to seeing many of you on Monday night!

May God bless you with His love and forever keep you in His grace.
