Sophocles’ Antigone February 4-5, 8 p.m. February 10-12, 8 p.m. The Harold and Sylvia Greenberg Theatre 4200 Wisconsin Avenue, NW The College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Performing Arts at American University invite you to our upcoming performances of Sophocles’ Antigone. Directed by Gail Humphries Mardirosian and featuring artist-in-residence Paul Morella as Kreon, this production links the classical to the contemporary, interweaving theatre, music, dance, and sign language. FIRST FRIDAY: Please join us for a special First Friday panel discussion following the opening night performance on February 4th. Valerie French (American University, history), Frank Hildy (University of Maryland, theatre), Zoe Kosmidou (Embassy of Greece, Cultural Counselor) and Spyros Payiatakis (Vice President of the State Theater of Northern Greece) will lead a discussion on theatre as an agent of social change through the lens of Antigone.
