The Hellenic Society Prometheas & The Hellenic Organizations of The Washington Metropolitan Area Invite you to a celebration of The 191 stAnniversary of the Greek IndependenceKeynote Speaker Dr. Christos P. Ioannides Director of the Center for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies The speech entitled: “The Greek Revolution and the Dream of Megali Idea” will be delivered in English. In addition, the program will include marching by students of the Greek schools, participation of St. Katherine’s Church choir, remarks by distinguished guests, brief literary readings honoring General Makrygiannis, patriotic songs, Greek folk dances performed by the Return to Origins dance troupe, and a reception.
