Eileen Olson's new work is an exploration of Mount Athos, the Holy Mountain in Greece. Using her imagination to cross the threshold of a site forbidden to women, Olson's journey is a quest influenced by those who spent their lives dedicated to the worship of the Mother of God. These works have a deep respect for the tradition of Greek Orthodoxy.
Eileen Olson studied at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and at the Corcoran School of Art. She is a member of the American Watercolor Society. She is a member of the Friends of Mt. Athos.
Exhibit will run from January 18 to February 3, 2005
