A Song is Not Enough
Ένα Τραγούδι δεν Φτάνει
by ELISSAVET CHRONOPOULOU
2003, In Black/White, 35mm, 118 min
In the winter of 1972, Irene is arrested by the military regime for resistance activities. Her imprisonment has a devastating effect on her life and the lives of the people close to her. Her 9-year-old daughter Olga feels abandoned and her irresponsible ex-husband Manolis shoulders the responsibilities of fatherhood for the first time. Irene's friend Vassia unwittingly plays a catalytic role in the shifting balances. In prison, Irene discovers another side of life and after she is released in August 1973, she finds nothing is the way she left it. A film about the attempt of four people who love each other very much to prove worthy of their love.
