Antonina, a beautiful Byzantine thespian lives a happy and lighthearted life in the Greek medieval world playing in a constant game of seduction with those around her. In such a game she meets General Andronicus. Security, protection and social position on the one hand, vicious conflicts both below the surface and out in the open with the other members of the general's family on the other, these constitute her new world. It is autumn when Antonina meets and falls in love with Theodosius, a guest and friend of Andronicus' son Photios.

For her it's a sort of game. Happily and lightheartedly Antonina and Theodosius take advance of the general's long absence. They are a strange couple that roams and haunts the streets of the medieval city at night. It is not long before the scandal breaks out and reaches Andronicus. So, while Antonina is arrested, exposed to public ridicule and imprisoned, Theodosius, now a hunted man, escapes and hides out in a monastery. A story about friendship and generosity. A fairy tale based on a true story.
