On Monday, September 12th, at 7:30pm, the St. Katherine YAL will be hosting their monthly Sandwich-making Charity event for the Homeless. Please bring a loaf or two of sandwich bread and two or three packages of deli meats and cheeses. Sandwich-making will take place in the kitchen of the new hall. For the past two months, we have made close to 400 sandwiches each month. Please help us surpass this level this month. All sandwiches are donated to the Bailey's Crossroads Community Shelter for Men and Women.
After sandwich-making, you can stay and play basketball in the new hall or you can join us for dinner at a local restaurant. This month, we have selected one of two restaurants that we promise will be a lot of fun: Bailey's and Carpool. Both restaurants are located in walking distance from the Metrorail stations in the Ballston/Virginia Square section of Arlington. Bailey's and Carpool each are a combination sports bar and restaurant featuring billiards, darts, and televised sporting events. Join us for dinner and a couple of rounds of pool or darts or just hang out and watch Monday Night Football. That evening, Philadelphia plays at Atlanta. Last month we went to the Rio Grande Cafe and everyone had a great time. Please join us this month for sandwich-making and then come with us to either Bailey's or Carpool. Please RSVP with your preference for which restaurant that you want to go to as soon as possible so that we can make reservations!!
