National Young Adult Conference – Nashville, TN
July 14-17, 2006
Friday: After registering, take the time to explore the majestic Gaylord Opryland hotel. Truly, one of the finest venue and event centers in the country! You can also take a quick cab ride to downtown Nashville to enjoy the culture, sights and sounds of ‘Music City USA’. Take this opportunity to ‘break the ice’ with new young adults and enjoy the great food and live music.
Saturday: Start the day with a southern-style brunch and hear the inspiring words of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America. His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit will also be in attendance to welcome the nation’s young adults to the hosting Metropolis.
Following the brunch, young adults will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions lead by Rev. Fr. Dan Suciu, Rev. Fr. Mark Arey, and Bishop Savas. A panel discussion will host all our session leaders who will conclude their messages and answer any questions by young adults. A short vesper service will follow.
In the evening, prepare to visit the birthplace of some of the most talented musicians and songwriters in the area: Vanderbilt’s very own Dyer Observatory. On perhaps the tallest hilltop in Nashville, enjoy a concert from a trio of songwriters that is scheduled around a glorious sunset. After the performance, when the stars begin to shine, the telescope is opened to cap off the night with views of celestial wonders. Dinner and drinks will be served.
Sunday: Following a beautiful Divine Liturgy, young adults will be encouraged to gather around the pool area to soak in the rays and socialize. Later, we will travel downtown to the BB King’s Blues Club to enjoy live music, dinner and entertainment.
