Please join us for the 5th Anniversary of Third Thursday at the place where it all began, Gordon Biersch Brewery, on October 19th at 7:00 PM. Here's what the original organizers of Third Thursday had to say 5 years ago:
We've often heard young Greek-American professionals - married and single - say that they would like the opportunity to meet other Greek-Americans in the D.C. area in a relaxed and informal setting. So, if you are: a.. a Greek-American professional b.. living in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area; and c.. interested in meeting more Greek-Americans in the area... we would like to invite you to join us on the third Thursday of every month at a gathering to which all Greek-American professionals in the Washington metro area are invited. We pledge to you that: There will be no cover charge, no RSVP's and no name tags. There will be no group name, no board members and no mission statements. This is simply an attempt to address a need we have heard many express: to help young Greek-Americans in the area get together. Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is located one block from the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro stop on the Red and Green Lines.
Five years later the original organizers have passed the torch, the tag line has changed, but the spirit remains the same.
See you there,
Eleni and George
Third Thursday provides young (single and married) Greek-Americans, Greeks, and Cypriots in the DC area a chance to meet in an informal setting. It really is that simple. Whether you are in school or in a job, or somewhere in between, DC native or transplant, you are welcome. You don't even have to live in the area -- If you find yourself often in DC, get on the list. Add yourself to the mix.
There is no cover charge and the organizers, Eleni Antzoulatos & George Papanicolaou, do not receive any remuneration for their efforts. Don't Drink and Drive!
