The Department of Communication of Marymount University Cordially invites you to a presentation by Dr. Panos Livadas On models of political communication and Electoral behavior On Friday, February 6, 2009 At 10:30 am. Marymount University Reinsch Library Auditorium 2nd Floor Co-Organized with the Embassy of Greece, Press and Communication Office Dr. Panos Livadas is the Secretary General of Information of Greece, responsible for the country’s communication strategy and international media relations. Secretary General of Information of Greece Dr. Panos Livadas Dr. Panos Livadas was born in Athens, Greece in 1964. He graduated from Athens College, Greece’s most prestigious high school, and went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Political Science at Hofstra University, New York and the University of Florida. As a student, Livadas interned at the U.S. Senate and served in student leadership positions at the University of Florida. In 1997, Livadas earned his Master of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Athens in Greece. He was awarded a Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Athens in 2007. His doctoral thesis was titled A Synthetic Interpretation Model of Electoral Behavior. He has published extensively on polling, economics, political theory, and on the various issues of globalization. In March 2004, Dr. Panos Livadas was appointed Secretary General of Information by the Prime Minister of Greece, Kostas Karamanlis. His appointment was renewed after the September 2007 general elections. Among his duties, Livadas is in charge of country’s communication strategy and international media relations. Dr. Panos Livadas has worked in the private business sector both in the United States and in Greece. He is married to Athina Kranidou and has three children.
