After a record breaking year of sandwich-making for the homeless, St. Katherine’s YAL continues to help the homeless while having a good time. Our goal for this year is not simply to make more sandwiches, but to get more people involved in this worthwhile experience. Please make an effort to bring a new person -- or someone who hasn't been to sandwich-making in a while -- this Monday.
Please bring loaves of sandwich bread and packages of deli meats and cheeses in the right amounts to ensure that we do not have any leftovers of bread and meat. The ratio is 2 slices of meat per sandwich, or one slice of meat and one slice of cheese per sandwich. Ideally, each participant should bring seven loaves of bread and eleven packages of meat or a combination of six packages of meat and five packages of cheese.
If you don't have time to go to the grocery store beforehand, or cannot attend this event but would like to make a cash contribution to this worthy cause, please email Helen Spanos at [email protected] by 3:00pm that Monday night, and Helen will purchase the meat and bread on your behalf.
As always, after sandwich-making, we will go to a local restaurant for dinner. St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church
