This year's convention is in Montreal, Canada.
As everyone knows, Montreal is an amazing city. Shoping. Sightseeing. Bars. Clubs. Casinos. Please keep in mind that the After Hours Events are 18+ in Montreal! The convention is July 11th to July 18th, 2010. If you can't make it for the whole time, just come for the weekend. More details on specific events being held throughout the week and weekend will be provided as they are booked/organized. Pricing will also be provided at a later date. For now, just plan on coming. One event we have scheduled for sure is a comedy night with the extremely funny and talented Montreal native, Angelo Tsarouchas! Join us on Saturday, July 17 for a YAL social event at the German Beer Garden and H St Country Club! Start off the evening at 6pm with dinner and drinks German style at Biergarten Haus (German Beer Garden) (1355 H St NE, Washington, DC, http://biergartenhaus.com/). Oktoberfest has come to the vibrant H St NE area with a dozen German drafts (and two Austrian) by the liter or half-liter stein, and another dozen by the bottle, and plenty of bratwursts, weisswursts and bauernwursts. Lederhosen, Dirndls and Fustanellas not required, but strongly encouraged.After dinner, we'll continue to the H Street Country Club (1335 H St NE. http://www.thehstreetcountryclub.com/ ). It's a great bar and games place. Hang out and play pool, skeeball, and shuffleboard, or form a team and play some miniature golf.While this isn't directly accessible via metrorail, you do have a few options: By Car: - There is metered and unmetered street parking available. Street parking is free after 6:00PM. By Public Transportation: - The H Street shuttle runs from the Gallery Place/Chinatown metro in front of Zengo Restaurant and from the Minnesota Ave metro (blue/orange line) from 5pm until 3am: http://www.atlasarts.org/plan_shuttle.php. And it's free!- From the Chinatown station, you can get the X2 bus eastbound down H Street, across the train tracks to northeast, and then get off at 13th Street. - The 90/92 buses that go down Florida Ave NW will take you to H St NE and 8th St NE.
