Third Thursday | AHEPA National HQ Rooftop | May 16, 2013Join us on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 7 PM at the rooftop of AHEPA National Headquarters in Dupont Circle for this month's Third Thursday, where the Hellenic Community of Washington, DC will be hosting a happy hour benefiting the Demeter Initiative. While we as the hosts of Third Thursday are not involved in the actual planning of this event, just as we don't run the bars and restaurants that serve as the locations for our other happy hours, the goal of Third Thursday has always been to get Greeks and Philhellenes together, so rather than split up the community by hosting a happy hour at another location, we're encouraging everyone to join in this wonderful cause. The organizers of this event have gotten food and drinks donated by a myriad of Greek and Greek-owned establishments from all over the DC area, so rather than charging for drinks, they're encouraging attendees to provide a free-will donation to support the Demeter Initiative. For those of you who have never been to an event at the AHEPA National Headquarters rooftop, check out these photos from the MezeMania Saturday Afternoon Happy Hours at DCGreeks.com Pan-Hellenism Weekends in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Location AHEPA National Headquarters Getting There Driving Directions See you there, Aristotelis Chronis | Themistocles Chronis | Sofia Plagakis | Christiana Shoushtari | Michael Veronis If you have a suggestion on where the next Third Thursday should be, email us at [email protected], join our Facebook group. We would love to hear from you! Since 2001, Third Thursday has provided Greek-Americans, Greeks, Cypriots, and Philhellenes from the Washington, DC area and beyond the chance to meet every month in a relaxed atmosphere, particularly welcoming those who have moved from different parts of the country for work or school into the greater DC area Greek community. With visits to a variety of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the most vibrant neighborhoods of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Third Thursday is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones in the Greek community. As it now embarks on its third iteration since its founding, we promise to maintain the simple principles of its founders, while expanding the event to an ever-changing audience of Greeks in the area. We look forward to seeing you -- or meeting you for the first time -- at the next Third Thursday.
