This one-night performance in Washington, DC features everything from new compositions by David Foster and Andrea Bocelli, Stephan Moccio, and Robin Gibb, to songs Mario made famous like “Vincero, Perdero,” the Italian version of “Nights in White Satin” by Justin Hayward from his “Sometimes I Dream” album, and “Here’s To The Heroes” written by Don Black from his “Follow Your Heart” album – both fixtures on Billboard’s Classical Crossover charts. Frangoulis blends multiple musical styles, including opera, Pop Rock, Folk, Soul and R&B, and sings in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Greek. Frangoulis is joined by acclaimed female vocal group, Women of the World, who sing in 8 languages. The Smile of the Child The Smile of the Child” was founded 17 years ago and is dedicated to the protection of children and their rights by providing services to them on a continuous and consistent basis; that is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The aim of the Organization is to ensure the welfare, physical well-being as well as the mental and psychological stability of any child in need. Its Community Homes provide not only shelter but also a true home environment for children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. It is supported locally by The Hellenic Society Prometheas. The Demeter Initiative The Demeter Initiative, named after the Greek goddess of the harvest, is a program founded by the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), a leading membership-based association for the nation's millions of American citizens of Greek heritage and Philhellenes. Its goal is to raise a $100,000, which when combined with a matching donation of $100,000 from AHEPA Chapter 53, St. Louis, will provide $200,000 to be used for the following:
AHEPA will be working in cooperation with the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) which will help secure the food from farmers and provide it to the 35 participating supermarket chains in Greece.
