The 2013 National AHEPA Invitational Basketball Tournament has been canceled due to lack of participation.  If interested in participating in the 2014 tournament in July, 2014 in New Orleans, LA, please contact Costa Papademetriou at [email protected]. 

The AHEPA National Athletics Department is holding its annual NAIBT – National AHEPA Invitational Basketball Tournament at the end of the 2013 AHEPA Supreme Convention Week in Orlando, FL. Opening round games begin on the evening of Thursday August 22, continue on Friday evening, August 23, and culminate on Saturday, August 24.

Teams entering the tournament will be required to submit a refundable $400 entry fee to reserve their slot, which will be fully refunded following the completion of their participation in the tournament.

The first four out-of-state teams to send in their checks will also receive $250 to assist them with travel expenses.

The men's tournament will feature a six to eight team tournament that will be arranged in a modified round robin format, guaranteeing every team three games.

We are also hoping to hold a women's tournament at the same location during that period, based on interest.  If interested, please contact Costa Papademetriou at [email protected] before registering.

Player Eligibility:

Players participating in the NAIBT must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

• Member, in good standing, of AHEPA or its auxiliaries for at least six months

•  Of Hellenic descent

• Married to spouse of Hellenic descent

Games will be held on Thursday August 22 - Saturday August 24, 2013.

There is a block of rooms reserved for $149/night.  Mention "AHEPA" when calling to receive this rate. Please note that this rate expires on July 16th, 2013 or while supplies last.  AHEPA will not be able to secure any rates after July 16, and after this date, rates will be at $300/night or more!

Team Registration fees are $400 to reserve your spot, but will be refunded to those teams at the conclusion of the tournament for those teams who complete their partipation.  Registration fees can be paid online via major credit card, PayPal, or by mailing in a check. 

The first four out-of-state teams with completed registrations whose payments received will also receive a $250 check to be used to mitigate travel expenses incurred.
