The National Hellenic Museum's Oral History Project Comes to DC
Oral History Project Comes to DC Tell us the story of your ancestors! The National Hellenic Museum's Oral History Project designed to preserve the history of the Greeks of America by collecting the recorded interviews and memoirs of individuals and/or groups is coming to our area. Persons of Greek descent, the spouses, or relatives of Greek persons are eligible to provide an oral history and anyone interested in contributing to this most valuable project can do so by scheduling an interview by using the information provided below. The process involves completing a biographic data form, taping an audio and/or video interview, and providing pictures and documents that enhance the story. Your oral history, as well as any pictures or documents that enhance your story, will be digitized and deposited into the NHM archives, creating a repository for Greek American histories preserved for research by the public, students or scholars, documentaries or movie productions, public presentations, publication in books, journals, magazines or on the Internet. This is your opportunity to record and preserve the unique and inspirational stories of your ancestors and their sacrifices as they journeyed to this country.
Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church Call 703-671-1515 to schedule an interview. The National Hellenic Museum is America's national institution for documenting, preserving and sharing an important part of America's heritage, the history and legacy of pioneering and contemporary Greek Americans, while showcasing their rich Hellenic heritage and its profound impact on the western world.
