Third Thursday Greek Young Professionals Happy Hour Join us on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 7:00 PM as the Third Thursday Greek Young Professionals Happy Hour series visits Umaya Izakaya in Washington, DC. Opened in January 2017 near Metro Center, Umaya brings a much-needed Izakaya presence to the nation’s capital, mixing a beautiful beer garden with Asian culture and delicacies. Izakaya restaurants are similar to tapas restaurants as they propel guests to share and enjoy their time together—always over a few drinks as Umaya carries a wide array of beer and sake to compliment the peaceful and easy feel of the restaurant. Umaya DC specializes in the ever-popular Japanese "street food" with seasoned chefs putting their own twists on time-honored dishes. Classic dishes such as sushi and ramen grace the menu along with authentic Izakaya masterpieces.

With visits to a variety of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the most vibrant neighborhoods of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Third Thursday is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones in the Greek community. We strive to maintain the simple principles of its founders while expanding the event to an ever-changing audience of Greeks in the area.
