Third Thursday Greek Young Professionals Happy Hour
24th Anniverary / Saint Sophia YAL Ladies & Gents Edition
Balos Estiatorio
October 16, 2025

Join us on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 7:00 PM as the Third Thursday Greek Young Professionals Happy Hour series celebrates its 24th anniversary at Balos Estiatorio in Washington, DC, featuring a special meet-up with Saint Sophia's YAL.  While we normally don't repeat the same venue twice in the same year, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to collaborate with our friends at Saint Sophia's YAL, as they've reserved space starting at 8:00 PM to cap-off their extremely popular Ladies & Gents event, making its return after brief hiatus! For those of you who aren't familiar with this Ladies & Gents event, it starts with YAL Ladies and Gents separately meeting up for dinners at 6:00 PM. After the dinners both groups will head over to Balos around 8:30 PM where they'll join our Third Thursday Greek Young Professionals Happy Hour, already in progress. Not able to join the YAL for dinner? Not to worry, as one of [email protected] and other Third Thursday regulars will be at holding it down at Balos at our usual 7:00 PM start time!

Located south of Dupont Circle, Balos cultivates a warm and welcoming environment that will make you feel instantly at home. This “old-world approachability meets modern metropolis” feel is the collective dream of industry experts, fellow Greeks, and life-long friends Stefanos Vouvoudakis, Tom Tsiplakos, and Joe Ragonese––a restauranteur with decades of experience in upscale dining for those with discriminating palates across LA, NYC, the Hamptons, and more!

Since 2001, Third Thursday has provided Greek-Americans, Greeks, Cypriots, and Philhellenes from the Washington, DC area and beyond the chance to meet every month in a relaxed atmosphere, particularly welcoming those who have moved from different parts of the country for work or school into the greater DC area Greek community. With visits to a variety of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the most vibrant neighborhoods of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Third Thursday is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones in the Greek community. We strive to maintain the simple principles of its founders while expanding the event to an ever-changing audience of Greeks in the area. We look forward to seeing you -- or meeting you for the first time -- at the next Third Thursday.
