We were just noticing that there was nothing Greek going on last weekend and there was nothing Greek going on this week, so as an alternative we propose:

We promise you that this isn't going to be a recurring event.

We promise you that we're only doing this because there's nothing Greek going on this week.

If we propose such an event in the future, it too will only be announced with less than a week's notice, when we again notice that there is nothing Greek going on in that week.

This event is not meant to fulfill your monthly recommended dosage of Greek music or Greek dancing. Those events take some real thought and some real planning and aren't announced with less than a week's notice. There might be some Greek people at the Clarendon Ballroom on Thursday night and that's really all we can guarantee.

This event is not meant to compete with any other previously-posted Greek events this week. If there was something Greek going on this week, we'd more than likely be there, and not proposing this event.

This event is not Third Thursday. It is merely a coincidence that this event takes place on a Thursday. January 10th is the second Thursday. We like Third Thursday.

This really isn't an event. We use the word "event" because there's really no good word in English or in Greek to describe a bunch of Greek people showing up at the same place for a reason that's not a Greek Night or a Happy Hour.

We have no expectations of people actually showing up because it is such short notice. We won't apologize for the short notice because we're only doing this because there's nothing Greek going on this week. We won't be offended if no one shows up because of the short notice.

We think there's a $5 dollar cover charge.

We think we might stay until at least 11:00.
