Chef Dmitris Skarmoutsos of the famed Alatsi Restaurant in Athens will conduct a food demonstration and tasting in association with Jorge Chicas of Zaytinya on June 8, 5:00 PM. Free of charge, the display will take place at the Penn Quarter FRESHFARM Market on 8th St. between D and E Sts.
Alatsi (Vrasida 13, Athens, tel: +30 (0)210 721 0501/2) brings to Athens the authentic gastronomic traditions of Crete – in fact, of a specific region in mountainous, western Crete – complete with the homegrown raw ingredients that form its backbone. The restaurant is behind the Hilton Hotel and is the brain-child of Greek TV journalist Stavros Theodorakis.
