By Professor Georgios Bambiniotis, President of The Hellenic Foundation for Culture
On the occasion of the National Day of Greece and the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome (for the foundation of the European Union), the Embassy of Greece in co-operation with the European Union Delegation and the EU Center of Excellence, Washington DC, is presenting Professor Georgios Bambiniotis, in a lecture that will focus on the contribution of the Greek language to the basic concept of the European civilization. Professor Bambiniotis, a noted linguist, is the former Rector of the University of Athens and one of the most internationally renowned Greek scholars.
