A PANORAMA OF GREEK CINEMA Wednesday, April 3, 2013 8:00 PM Nicostratos The Pelican This French production was shot in the Greek isles. Yannis is a 14-year-old boy who lives on a pristine Greek island. Still haunted by memories of his mother's death, he struggles to connect emotionally with his fisherman dad. One magical summer, Yannis rescues and befriends a young pelican that he names Nicostratos; he also falls in love for the first time, with Angeliki, a 17-year-old girl whose free-spiritedness overwhelms him and opens up unforeseen doors in his life.
