Join us on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 8:00 PM as the Third Thursday Greek Young Professionals Happy Hour series continues online in DCGreeks.com's Virtual Bar!  With the social distancing protocols in place due to COVID-19, we're continuing with a virtual format via Gather, a video conferencing platform that better mimics a happy hour experience from the comfort of your home! 

Gather is building virtual spaces for people to live and interact more effectively online. They've combined video-calling with an old-school 8-bit video game-style 2D map, letting users walk around and talk to the other people right next to them. Unlike traditional video conferencing platforms which lump everyone into a single call, Gather lets you "work the room" and chat with others in smaller groups with the ability to freely engage with different participants throughout the night without needing an admin to assign you to breakout rooms. We'll be hosting Third Thursday in a virtual bar setting allowing our guests to participate in small group video calls, play games like poker and Pictionary, and more!

Since 2001, Third Thursday has provided Greek-Americans, Greeks, Cypriots, and Philhellenes from the Washington, DC area and beyond the chance to meet every month in a relaxed atmosphere, particularly welcoming those who have moved from different parts of the country for work or school into the greater DC area Greek community.  With visits to a variety of bars, restaurants, and lounges in the most vibrant neighborhoods of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, Third Thursday is a great way to catch up with old friends and make new ones in the Greek community. We strive to maintain the simple principles of its founders while expanding the event to an ever-changing audience of Greeks in the area.  We look forward to seeing you -- or meeting you for the first time -- at the next Third Thursday.
