Member ID:   Athan

Hi, my name is Athan and I'm a 63 year-old first-generation Greek-American male from Washington, DC. I am looking for friendship with both men and women.
I am 5' 10". I have black hair and I have brown eyes. I would consider my body type to be average.
I don't smoke and I drink on a regular basis.
I am a Greek Orthodox Christian. I attend church regularly.

I have a Bachelor's Degree. My Occupation: Lobbyist.

Personal Statement:

I'm a first generation Greek-American from NC; moved to DC in 1993. My dad, a recently retired priest, was born in Thessaloniki (but his parents are from Proussa in Asia Minor) and my mom is from Messinia. I'm a lobbyist for the Sierra Club, we attend St. Sophia, my kids go to Greek school (my wife is not Greek), and to try and keep up my Greek language skills I organize a Greek language MeetUp (the last Thursday of the month). After our most recent visit to Greece (in 2005) and the 2004 football and 2005 basketball championships I started following Greek sports more. I'd like to invite other Hellenes who want to practice their Greek to come to the MeetUp, or get together to watch Panathinaikos play basketball.
